Welcome

Welcome to the official web site of the Stonebrook Homeowner's Association. Stonebrook is a community of 180 townhomes located in South Charlotte near the intersection of Tyvola and Nations Ford Roads. The community started in June of 2001, with the first residents arriving that November. Diamond Oak Development, Inc. is the developer who bought the land and laid out all of the lots. From there, Diamond Oak sold the lots to Mercedes Homes, which built the townhouses to sell.

Each person that purchases a home in Stonebrook has agreed to be part of the Homeowner's Association. Being part of the HOA means that we all work together to keep our community a nice place to live. Each lot pays the same amount of monthly dues to the HOA which goes into the upkeep of our community.

Entry Gates

Using the Stonebrook Entry Gate

We understand the instructions for the box have weathered away and not everyone may know how the box and gate operate. Please refer to the following instructions and helpful hints on how to properly operate the gate:

To open the gate (for residents)
  • Residents with the old style (black) remotes need to aim the remote at the entry box.
  • Residents with the new style (tan) remotes need to aim the remote at the gate, and can work from as far away as the "split" in the driveway.
  • Residents using the box need to type in their access code. This number is always preceded with the # sign.
To gain access (for guest/deliveries/services)
  • Your number must be programmed into the box. Please email stonebrookgatecode@gmail.com with your address and the phone number you wish to have programmed into the box.
  • Your guest will use either of the round "A" or "Z" buttons to scroll through the list to find your name.
  • When the name is found, press the "Call" button.
  • The box will call you and act as a speakerphone so you can hear who is at the gate. Press 9 to open the gate.
Using the gate / helpful hints and tips
  • The gate is designed to only allow one care through at a time. If you are behind another car, please wait until the gate arm is going down before using your remote or entering your code.
  • Sometimes the gate arm gets broken off and the gate is already open. The gate will close after a set amount of time after it was last accessed. You must use your remote or code even if the gate is open to assure it will not close on your car as you try to enter.
  • Sometimes the arm is up but the gate is closed. This happens when someone enters by foot. After using your remote or code, please wait until the gate is completely open before proceeding through. Sometimes the gate arm resets and comes down before it goes back up. Allow a few seconds to verify this does not happen to you.
  • It is not allowed to enter the community via the exit gate. This gate also has a timer and will close.
  • The gates are tested and maintained regularly and found to be in good working order. You are responsible for any damage on your vehicle due to not following these guidelines.
Using the Stonebrook Exit Gate
There is a keypad on the left side of the exit gate. The code to exit is the same code used to enter the community with the exception there is no # sign used. This will soon be replaced by a simple push-button to make it easier for everyone exiting on foot or on bike.
Power Outages
During a power outage, there is a battery backup on the entry gate that will open the gates and raise the arm. The exit gates do not have this feature and need to be opened manually by either the gate company or one of the board members. NEVER push on the gates to open them manually. This strips the gears and costs the HOA approximately $500 to replace the gears each time this happens.
